Homestead Hollow

October 4, 2008

Mom and I met up with Aunt Liz at Homestead Hollow, and boy, what a day! We started getting ready to go after my first bottle of the day, and we didn’t get back until a couple of hours after my second bottle. I don’t know how to tell time, but that’s a pretty long time.

We got a big orange pumpkin for the front yard as Mom and Dad prepare to celebrate my first “Halloween” (whatever that is), and Mom bought me a costume to dress up for this day. Mom also bought some cloth books for me and a pair of scarecrow overalls for the fall. Then, we went to this section where it smelled SO GOOD!! Mom teased me with this green thing that she called a pickle that had brown stuff all over it (she said it was fried). It looked GOOD, but I have to wait until I have teeth. I can’t wait til I’m big enough to eat that stuff because there was so much good looking food around me.

I love my house in Springville, but Homestead Hollow makes it hard to get back home. Check out the pictures.

6 Month Pics

Oops…my bad

September 13, 2008

Man, has time gotten away with me. I’ll be 6 months old in just two short weeks, and I have forgotten to blog for quite some time. Dad has updated his blog with the latest Jack news better than I have. For those looking for something to do, Mom and Dad have scheduled my baptism for Sunday, September 21, 2008. It will be at the 9:45 service at Springville First United Methodist Church. Mom and Dad are inviting all my fans over afterward for lunch (and Mom’s birthday too).

I have been having fun with Ms. Kim Tuesdays through Fridays, and I’ve even attended several volleyball games with Mom and Aunt Liz. I’m rolling all over the place now that I figured out how to do that, and I’m working on figuring out how to control this sound that comes out of my mouth…did you know that if you put your tongue between your lips, you can make this spitting sound? It’s pretty fun. Mom says it’s precious, but she gets mad when I do it at meal times. I don’t know why it’s funny sometimes, and sometimes it’s not???

My aunt Liz and Dewey found out that they are having a boy. That will be fun to have a close boy playmate, but Mom says I can’t go over there to play unless Aunt Liz is home. Apparently, Mr. Dewey has lots of “dangerous” fun ideas. I’m not sure what dangerous is, but it must not be good.

Well, I’ll leave you with some new pictures. I hope you enjoy.

Sooo… It’s been a while

August 29, 2008

Well hello everyone!!!! Sorry it has been so long since my last post but Mom and Dad have kept me super busy over the past few weeks. Beau, Liz, and Jake came to town and we went out to the river and Jake and I had a great time hanging out with GrandMa and Aunt Lynne while our parents went to something called a reunion. Then Mom started going back to “work” which means that I have started going to Ms. Kim’s throughout the week, so far it has been lots of fun. And the best part is that Mom and Dad took this great toy over to Ms. Kim’s house it is called a exersaucer and it is a blast, so much so that Mom and Dad went out and got me one for our house. The other big news is that I have come up with a new trick… Mom and Dad call it “rolling over” I like to think of as my Ninja Roll. Oh yeah! I almost forgot I have started eating with a spoon and having veggies, fruit, and oatmeal. Dad tried the oatmeal and made a super funny face. Below are some of the latest pics…..

Here we go…ENJOY!

My first trip to Jefferson’s

Dad’s favorite restaurant in the whole entire world is Jefferson’s. He prefers the establishment in Jacksonville, but it’s not the most kid-friendly site. To overcome this, Dad took me to the next best thing…the one in Gadsden. Would you believe that all I’ve heard since my birth is how good the wings are there, but DAD WOULD NOT LET ME EAT ONE!!! Not very fair, huh?

I’m a Percussionist!

Check me out! I got to beat on a drum! I am awesome!! Ignore Mom; she didn’t “dress up” for the occasion.

My cousin Jensen

My cousin Jensen is the coolest kid! One minute he’s Spiderman, one minute he’s Indiana Jones, one minute he’s Iron Man, and the next minute he’s Yoda. How awesome is he. Check out the pictures of him flying!!!

Me and My Bumbo

Grandma saw this from her friend Lynne C, so I got one!!! Yea, Grandma!! I love it!

Happy 4th of July!

July 6, 2008

First of all, Happy Belated 4th of July! Friday, Mom and Dad and I hung around the house during the morning while Mom and Dad cleaned up some. It’s about time, I refuse to play in a pig sty. Then Nana and Popa came over to see me since Popa was home for the day from Ft. McClellan. Then, we left to go to the river. I had taken a long nap in the morning, but I was wanting another one. Mom and Dad packed me up, and everything was fine….for a while…I was having fun with everyone playing with me, talking to me, and watching me kick and play. Then, it hit….CRABBY JACK! I was WAY tired, and Mom just couldn’t get me to settle down, so we made our trip a short one. We headed back to the river on Saturday to make up for my lack of visiting. Low and behold, Crabby Jack showed up again. Poor Grandpa. I realized how sleepy and hungry I was every time Grandpa held me. Finally, after much to do putting together a pack and play and trying to figure out where I was supposed to sleep in it, I took a long, long nap on a soft and cushy pillow. I was sleeping so well, but Grandma decided she wanted to tickle my feet to wake me up. Apparently, they had watched a “funny” movie (Bucket List), so Grandma needed some “cheering up.”

For those who don’t know, I got a new ride. Dad’s Silver Bullet said it’s goodbyes, so Mom and Dad traded it in for a Mazda 5, so now Mom and I get to cruise around in the new ride. It’s grey (so they tell me) and has a lot less tinted windows. This cuts down my sleep time, so we may have to do something about that.

My aunt Jennifer is having my cousin Jenna in just a week or two. Mom says she’s on “bed rest,” but I’m not quite sure what that means. Where else would you rest? Anyway, she may arrive in as soon as a week.

I go back to the doctor at the end of this month, and Mom and Dad are very anxious to see how much I have grown. I must be getting pretty big because I’m wearing 3-6 month clothes already, but 0-3 pants still fit best (short legs). My hair seems to be coming back in a weird form of blonde. Who would’ve thunk? I was born with dark hair, but it all fell out and came back blonde with a bit of a red tint??? Weird, huh?

Kindermusik was great this last week!! I got to beat on a drum. Mom had to help me at first, but I did bang on it once all by myself. I’m also doing a great job with holding things. Mom and Dad bought me this neat Oball, so it has all these holes for my fingers. I can hold it all by myself. Sometimes I even stick my tongue through the holes. It’s pretty fun; Adlee did it too when she played with it. I’ve also started kicking this mirror thing that hangs on my playgym. It makes sounds and plays music when I hit it, so I just pick up my legs and hips and flail away. I even started bicycling my legs a little when Dad would sing “The Wheels on the Bus.” Dad thought it was quite the trick.

Well, bye for now. I’ll try to write again soon. Mom and I try to spend our days enjoying our time together, so we don’t always make time for blogging, but we’ll try. See you soon!!!
